5 Reasons Why Some Consider a Work From Home Option
Tuesday, August 12th, 2008
Hey, maybe you can relate to these 5 reasons OR maybe you have a list of your own - if you do, please send them to me, I’d love to hear them, in fact I’m going to consider this list just the beginning! - but these are reasons close to my heart:
- Tired of the cold corporate machine - with just a thin veneer of “we value our people”
- Tired of slaving to meet “management’s” targets and few of my own
- Tired of feeling constantly at the mercy of big, strategic decision makers who could raise the ax at any moment leaving me stranded
- Tired of feeling out of control in my job, career and life, working too hard, not spending enough time on things I really care about
- The idea of controlling my own destiny, building something of value to others, using more creativity, expanding personal and professional horizons - these all seem like very attractive new challenges
Don’t get me wrong! Companies have their place. And some people really thrive in them. And that’s good for them - although how they handle the traffic every day is a mystery.
Send me your reasons or post a comment below.
